CMC Alumni Activities

Every year the Alumni Association takes the initiative in organizing the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the MBBS Batch completing the 25^th year. An exclusive Alumni Day is celebrated along with it, in which members from different batches come together. The most important activities of the day are: (1) the prestigious alumni oration (started in 1986 and continuing till date without break) and (2) the annual general body meeting of the Association. By convention, the association elects its office bearers for a term of 2 years with a president, two vice presidents, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and a 25-member executive body including district and overseas representatives.

Alumni Computer Centre for PowerPoint designing, Thesis work, Presentations, Journal work, Scanning & DTP work and Internet facilities.
Alumni Photography Unit for Clinical Photography, Operative photography, Slide making (Colour & BW)
Alumni Photostat centre in Central Library
LCD facilities (for programmes inside and outside campus) at reasonable charges
Weekly Medical Updates for orienting students to appear for postgraduate entrance examination. This is continuing for the 9^th year in succession. It is with pride that we say that these classes have helped many to realize their dreams of postgraduate education in premier institutes. The members of Alumni Association get a fee discount in these training sessions.
FAX SERVICES

Alumni Association also conducts Continuing Medical Education Programmes at Calicut and in peripheral areas, thereby helping in regular updates of knowledge even after passing out from this institution.

The Association also supports like-minded organizations in the campus like Junior Academic Club and SPIC-MACAY in their programmes.

The Alumni Association played a key role in supporting the renovation of our old Biochemistry Lecture Hall to a modern Lecture theatre namely Dr.Saju Memorial Lecture Hall.

Our Central Library has the state of the art Learning Resource Centre which is completely sponsored by overseas alumni of Calicut Medical College The CMCAA co-ordinates the activities.

CMCAA is also an integral part of the newly formed CICAB (Campus Initiative for Cleanliness and Beauty) with the president of the association being one of its vice presidents.

The CMCAA is also proud that three specialty alumni associations function here very effectively - Paediatrics, Orthopaedics & Pathology Alumni Association. The CMCAA interacts with all these in a healthy way with mutual enrichment.

The CMCAA also hold family meets of Alumni in Calicut as well as peripheral locations, whenever possible.

The Staff employed in Alumni Association are courteous and always there to help you in needy hours. In fact, this is your association for your welfare. So be a part of it and support this, to strengthen it and help it to render more useful service. When you pass out of this great institution as fresh graduates we invite you to remain a part of it by associating with us. Help us to keep the fire of our great alma mater burning.
